Southbank International School raise funds for ABC with football

Here's how the money you raise will help many street children
and vulnerable young people of Brazil
:

£25 pays for food and shelter for one child for a week who would otherwise be living on the street
£50 pays for a visit to the dentist for 25 children; or a guitar or a drum for art workshops

£100 pays for the salary of a teacher or psychologist for a month

£250 provides school teaching materials for a class of 50 for a year

£1000 pays for running costs for 12 months for one of our project partners - electricity, telephone, water and stationery

organising your own fundraising initiative

If you have a passion for music, talent for organising dinner parties or even cake baking skills, why not use your creativity to organise your own fundraising event and help ABC.

Some inspirational examples of how our supporters have helped ABC:

During the month of May, the Southbank International School in London raised nearly £600 for ABC Trust, by hosting two football related events.

The first one was a set of football activities designed by the Brazilian children, especially for the International Night, which is an annual event at the school celebrating diversity in the school community. It was the perfect place to talk about the work we do at ABC Trust and raise awareness for the problems faced by the street children in Brazil. Over 60 children and parents joined the fun and helped raise funds in support of the Street Child World Cup project.

Then on May 14th, Southbank hosted a football shuffle tournament at the Kensington Leisure Centre. Nine teams of 7 players, parents, teachers and children ages 5-11 dressed up and played football to raise money for the Street Child World Cup project that ABC is currently involved in. The teams were awarded prizes for Best Costume, Most Active and Most Sportsman like. It was a huge success and by the end of the tournament almost 100 people had gathered to celebrate the winners and hear more about ABC Trust from ABC’s representative Lydia who came down to see the end of the matches.

This is a great example of how communities can get together, have fun and raise funds for ABC at the same time as teaching children about the serious issues faced by many children and young people in Brazil so that they can take action in the future. We would like to thank the overwhelming support of the Southbank community and we hope that this will inspire others to do the same.
