With the dawn of a new decade upon us, there is no better way to kick-start 2010 than by making a New Year’s resolution that you can actually keep. Instead of pretending to cut back on chocolate or vowing to go to the gym more, why not make 2010 the year you get involved in some fundraising for ABC Trust?

There are many ways you can help raise funds for ABC’s partner projects in Brazil and help thousands of vulnerable young people of Brazil without having to run a marathon! If you prefer less muscle straining activities, be inspired by the great success of ABC supporter Mrs Wood’s coffee mornings, through which she has raised an incredible £1,997. With the accumulation of all your new Christmas presents you could even bring Spring Cleaning forward and have a car boot sale of all your unwanted belongings from 2009.

For those of you after more of an adrenaline rush from your fundraising, you can combine two New Year’s resolutions in one. You can conquer a fear or fulfil a lifelong ambition whilst fundraising for ABC Trust, whether that be skydiving, completing Wainwright’s coast to coast walk or going further afield to discover ‘The Lost City of the Incas’ at Machu Picchu.

If you are a running enthusiast, you can follow in the footsteps of Simon Brooke who ran the Virgin London Marathon and raised over £1000 for ABC. But if you are not quite prepared for a whole marathon, why not join the ABC Team for this year’s Asics British 10K London Run on 11th July 2010. Alternatively, you could run any other race in aid of ABC, like Adam Dacey ran the Bristol 10K and raised £174.

There will also be many opportunities to get involved in ABC-organised events in 2010. For keen footballers, there is the chance to meet Chelsea footballer Deco and to win many great prizes if you enter a team into ABC's Corporate Football Tournament on 25th April. Plus, Festinho will be back this summer and the Big City Sleep 2010 will be calling you again to sleep rough in our sponsored sleepout.

There is a whole host of ways you can fundraise for ABC and spread the word about our work. By making your New Year’s Resolution to get involved in fundraising for ABC Trust, you can help make 2010 a brighter year for thousands of vulnerable street children and disadvantaged young people across Brazil, giving them greater hope for the years ahead.
