An Oscar and
Tony Award-winning actor, Jeremy Irons made his name
in the celebrated 1981 Granada TV production of 'Brideshead
Revisted'.
In 1984 he made his Broadway debut and received a Tony
Award for best actor in Tom Stoppard's 'The Real Thing'.
He has since developed his career in film, but also
occasionally returns to the stage, with his first appearance
in the West End for 18 years in 'Embers' in 2006. In
1991, he won an Oscar for his role in 'Reversal of Fortune'.
More recent films include 'Casanova' with Heath Ledger
and Sienna Miller and 'Kingdom of Heaven'.
Jeremy Irons agreed to present
ABC's BBC Lifeline Appeal at the end of 2005 which helped
us raise nearly £100 000 for our work. Impressed
by ABC's work, he became a patron.
