About Us

ABC Trust is dedicated to helping the street children and most vulnerable young people of Brazil. By raising awareness and funding we support the work of local, community-led organisations which give children the education, support and inspiration that they need to transform their own lives.

ABC was founded in Bahia, NE Brazil by Jimena Pratcha. Inititally started to support theGraos de Luz (Seeds of Light) Project, the project began as a soup kitchen but soon focused on education, extra-curricular activities and an outreach scheme.

Whilst working at Grãos de Luz, Jimena met Jimmy Page. They spoke about the problems facing the children of Brazil, and discussed doing a project 'some day'.

When they returned to settle in the UK, Jimena set up ABC Trust, with Jimmy as the founding patron.

Initially the charity was run from their home until it rapidly grew into offices established in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk.

In 2003, Grãos de Luz was named a UNICEF Brasil project of the year. It has since also been honoured by the Brazilian Ministry for Culture.

ABC has since supported 22 projects and reached out to over 18,000 children and their families
