The daughter
of João Gilberto, one of the originators of bossa
nova music, and the writer of 'The Girl From Ipanema',
Bebel Gilberto is a popular and celebrated musician
in her own right.
She released her first EP in 1986, and collaborated
with a number of musicians throughout the 1980s and
1990s, including Towa Tei and David Byrne.
Bebel's songs have been featured on the TV series 'Nip/Tuck'
as well as the 2004 film 'Closer', starring Julia Roberts.
Her 2000 album, 'Tanto Tempo', became the most successful
album of Brazilian music ever.
Her third solo album, 'Momento', was released in 2007.
Bebel has been involved with ABC since 2003, appearing
at events in London, as well as offering signed CDs
and merchandise as prizes for competitions.
